Our Monetico Module for Odoo Is Now Compliant with Monetico's Latest MAC Security Update

If you accept card payments with Monetico on Odoo, you may have received a recent email from Monetico about the MAC security seal and upcoming changes to payment notifications. We want to reassure our customers right away: the Monetico module for Odoo by DevTalents is already up to date with these requirements.

📩 What did Monetico announce?

In its message to merchants, Monetico highlighted two key points:

• The security seal (MAC) must be calculated exactly as described in section « 4.3 — Calcul du sceau MAC » of the official Monetico technical documentation.
• For regulatory and technical reasons, Monetico will add new parameters to payment notifications over time, sometimes on short notice.

In practice, an integration that follows section 4.3 correctly will keep verifying payments reliably — and avoid the dreaded rejected or inconsistent payment notifications.

✅ Our module is already compliant

We audited and updated the module against the latest Monetico documentation. Concretely:

• MAC seal computed per section 4.3 — the seal is calculated over all the fields received in the notification, exactly as the specification requires.
• Future-proof notifications — because the seal is built dynamically from every received field, new parameters added by Monetico are automatically taken into account in the verification.
• Standards-compliant acknowledgement — the response sent back to Monetico follows section 1.5.3.3 (version=2 / cdr).
• Stricter security — the MAC key is validated, and both the amount and the currency of each notification are checked before a payment is confirmed.

✨ New features we've added

Beyond compliance, we've turned the module into a complete payment solution for Odoo:

• Refunds from Odoo — issue full or partial refunds directly from the transaction, no need to log into the Monetico back office.
• Saved cards / express payment — let returning customers pay faster with a securely stored card (tokenization).
• Deferred capture — authorize a payment now and capture (or cancel) it later, ideal for shipping or pre-orders.
• Automatic reconciliation — a scheduled job catches up on payments whose notification was lost in transit, so no valid order is ever missed.
• Better traceability — authorization number, masked card, refusal reason and the real payment date are stored on every transaction for easy support and accounting.
